Fitze Preserve

The Fitze preserve is a 3.5-acre wooded lot that sits behind Plainfield's Recreation/Seniors complex at 482 Norwich Road (Route 12). A Children's Discovery Trail has been created that allows youngsters to explore the trees and shrubs in a typical Northeast Connecticut woods. The stone walls that crisscross the property remind us that this was once open farmland. The trail is an easy 20-minute hike. Strollers are not recommended.
